What feeds us ultimately leads us, and the students of Next Gen Young Communicator Sunday shared powerful stories of discovering that only Jesus can truly satisfy the deepest hunger of the soul. Through struggles with addiction, uncertainty, temptation, and lukewarm faith, they found freedom, healing, and purpose by surrendering their lives to Christ and pursuing Him through His Word, prayer, worship, and community. Their testimonies serve as a reminder that when we become desperate for Jesus, He transforms our lives and leads us into the hope and future He has prepared for us.

In Isaiah 30, God reminds us that while life can feel uncertain and overwhelming, His voice is faithfully guiding us one step at a time. Through prayer, perseverance in difficult seasons, and obedience to His leading, we learn to trust Him more deeply rather than relying on our own understanding. Even when we can't see the full path ahead, God continues to whisper, “This is the way; walk in it.”

Romans 8 reminds us that every believer faces a daily battle between the flesh and the Spirit—a tension even the Apostle Paul experienced. The good news is that God has not left us to fight alone; the Holy Spirit empowers us, reminds us that we are children of God, and gives us strength to live in victory. When we stop relying on willpower and lean into the Spirit, we discover the freedom, hope, and grace found only through Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:28 reminds us that even in the middle of pain, suffering, and unanswered questions, God is still at work for the good of those who love Him. This promise does not mean life will always be comfortable or easy, but that God can redeem every season and use it to shape us more into the image of Christ. Even when we cannot see the bigger picture, we can trust that God is good, sovereign, and faithful through it all.

In Luke 2, the story of Anna reminds us that God often does His greatest work through lives marked by grief, waiting, and disappointment. Though her story carried deep “wrinkles” of loss and sorrow, Anna stayed faithful to God’s presence, and because of that faithfulness, she recognized Jesus when others missed Him. Our pain may mark us, but it does not define us—God redeems wrinkled stories and uses them to reveal His goodness & grace.

In 1 Kings 17, the widow of Zarephath’s story reminds us that even in seasons of provision and miracles, unexpected suffering can still come—but God remains present and faithful in every moment. Through it all, Scripture assures us that His mercies are new every morning, and as we continually seek Him, we find hope, strength, and the unchanging truth of His love.

Feeling lost is painful, but being found changes everything—and Scripture shows us that God pursues us even when we resist Him. Through Jonah, the prodigal son, and a personal testimony, we see that both rebellion and self-righteousness can keep us far from God, until we come to our senses and return. In the end, nothing satisfies like Jesus, and no one is ever too far gone to be found by His grace.

April 26, 2026

God is a God of second chances, extending mercy to us even when we don’t deserve it, just as He did with Jonah. The right response to that mercy is true repentance—a change of heart that leads to immediate action, humility, and turning away from sin. When we repent, God relents, offering forgiveness and transformation not only for us, but through us to others.

April 19, 2026

God’s mercy, as seen in Jonah’s story, is undeserved, unexpected, and freely given—reaching both the disobedient and the undeserving. From inside the fish, Jonah responds with a powerful prayer that is specific, rooted in God’s Word, passionate, and marked by humility and gratitude—even before his rescue comes. His story reminds us that God’s mercy doesn’t just rescue us, it transforms us, calling us to extend that same mercy to others.

The story of Jonah shows how easy it is to run from God when He asks us to do something uncomfortable, yet our disobedience often leads to storms that are meant to redirect us, not destroy us. Even in those moments, God’s mercy pursues us, using challenges to awaken us to truth and bring us back to Him. True surrender begins when we trust that being in God’s will—even in uncertainty—is far better than staying comfortable while going the wrong direction.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the most transformative event in history, changing lives across generations and reminding us that hope is alive. Even the first followers, including Thomas, wrestled with doubt—but Jesus met them in their uncertainty, not with rejection, but with invitation. The same is true today: our doubts don’t disqualify us, because the risen Jesus still meets us where we are and calls us to believe.

A true disciple of Jesus is marked by a transformed life—one that begins with full surrender and is changed from the inside out by the power of the Holy Spirit. This transformation isn’t about outward self-improvement, but an inward renewal that naturally becomes visible through growth, testimony, and a desire to follow Christ. Like the crowds on Palm Sunday, those who have been changed can’t help but respond with praise, boldly declaring Jesus as their King and Savior.

March 22, 2026

Following Jesus isn’t just belief—it’s a daily decision to fully surrender and live a transformed life through active faith. A true disciple reflects Jesus in both actions and attitude, growing step by step as they leave behind old ways and trust Him completely. As seen in John’s life, walking closely with Jesus leads to lasting transformation, where love becomes the defining evidence of a life changed by Christ.

Discipleship often begins with simple curiosity. When John the Baptist pointed to Jesus as the “Lamb of God,” ordinary people like Andrew and Philip chose to follow—and their encounter with Jesus was so life-changing that they immediately invited others to “come and see.” The story reminds us that following Jesus naturally leads to sharing Him, because when lives are truly transformed, the good news is too powerful to keep to ourselves.

March 8, 2026

Jesus’ call in Luke 9:23 to “deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow me” reminds us that discipleship is far more than casual belief—it’s a wholehearted commitment to live transformed by Him. True followers of Jesus are marked by a deep desire for Him, a willingness to surrender their own will, and a devotion that shapes every area of life. The question for each of us is simple but profound: what might God be asking us to leave behind in order to follow Him more closely?

Storms often leave us asking where God is—but Scripture reminds us that He is our refuge and ever-present help in trouble. From Joshua at the edge of the Promised Land to Peter stepping out onto stormy waters, we see that God’s presence, our obedience, and His faithfulness reveal beauty even in the hardest seasons. When the wind is loud and the waves feel overwhelming, we can trust that He is still near, still working, and still reaching out His hand.

March 1, 2026

What God has for you is on the other side of your YES. In the story of Joshua, we see that God doesn’t give every detail, but He does give a clear direction—to go—and He promises His presence to those who move forward in obedience and courage. Breakthrough comes when faith takes action, because miracles, victory, and promise are often revealed only after we take the step God is asking us to take and go for it!

Marriage, like a garden, thrives when it is intentionally cared for—but busy schedules and lack of margin often crowd out the connection we value most. Emotional, spiritual, and sexual intimacy all work together, and each requires time, energy, communication, and grace to flourish. When we choose to prioritize our marriage—protecting space, setting boundaries, and pursuing unity—we create a love that grows stronger with every season.

February 15, 2026

Marriage thrives or weakens not from dramatic moments, but from the “little foxes” — small acts of neglect, indifference, or scorekeeping that quietly erode connection over time. Song of Solomon reminds us that love is a covenant rooted in service, grace, honor, and choosing to fight for the relationship rather than for personal victory. When we protect the vine by prioritizing connection, extending forgiveness, & renewing our commitment, even seasons of winter can give way to new growth.

February 8, 2026

Song of Solomon offers timeless wisdom about love, reminding us that marriage is built on intentional pursuit, protection, and covenant commitment. Healthy relationships thrive when spouses continue to pursue one another, guard against small compromises, invite wise counsel, and speak words that build up rather than tear down. True wisdom in love means recognizing that while we may feel many things, God’s best design calls us to protect and honor one lifelong covenant.

February 1, 2026

From the beginning, God designed marriage to be a lifelong covenant—one man and one woman united in love and commitment. It’s more than a contract; it’s becoming “one flesh,” walking side by side with God at the center. Real strength in marriage looks like humility, gentleness, and serving one another well. When a husband and wife love each other openly and faithfully, their relationship becomes a beautiful reflection of God’s heart.

Legacy isn’t something we leave behind someday—it’s something we’re writing right now. It’s not about the stuff we leave for people, but the faith, character, and values we leave in them. Our lives tell a story that matters, starting today.

Lean in as Pastor Curt tells the story of Bridgewood. We never want to forget how the Lord has faithfully led and provided for our church for nearly 4 decades. As we embark on this next chapter of Bridgewood, let it be said that our story points to God’s story.

January 11, 2026

Whether we realize it or not, the world is reading our story - not by our words, but by the way we live our lives. Changed lives are the evidence of God; the more we surrender to Christ, the better our story gets. Are we allowing God to transform us so that our stories have impact?

January 4, 2026

God is calling Bridgewood in 2026 to become a church that lives and shares redemption stories—stories that point people to Jesus and demonstrate His transforming power. If we have been redeemed, we have a story to tell.
