God’s Got It
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
If I had a dollar for every time I focused on this passage during college, I would not have any student loans. The world constantly tells us that no one is going to take care of us, except ourselves. It is easy to get caught up in this way of thinking, especially when it comes to finances. Recently, I read through this passage in the New Living Translation and verse 32 caught my attention. “These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.” While the world is telling us that we need to have the future figured out, The Word tells us God has it all taken care of.
Lord, thank You for caring about our needs. Thank You for your patience as we continually try to control the details of our life. Please give us the discernment to see when we are trusting ourselves, instead of trusting You. You already know our needs, and will never let us down.
